Life Drawing. Why to do it!

Galina Milton / Comment on this

Drawing from life may seem complicated and complex, but gaining benefits from such exigent learning is worth it to understand the world better.

It is like shining a light on the intellect, revealing its deep complexities. Logic, as the key, is together with the skill of drawing - the key that directly accesses the human soul. The human soul is our complex world, conceived as something distant and close simultaneously. Knowing the world, people, and human nature is the aim of life's strategy - carpe diem before the end. Drawing is complicated for us, but it is necessary for our reflexes because shooting skill, even immediately and hard, is not panic and chaotic – it is traced by reason.

Therefore, familiar gestures can become friendly ones. Drawing is essential and beneficial.

Studying art with me is the perfect means of tranquility and happiness. The more events there are, the more important and central the presentation through images becomes to science. Our persistence to hide from the drawing experience appears to me completely thoughtless.

Creativity is the correct answer to the uncertainty of the moment, which conservatives are afraid of, as it requires a responsible frame and realization. Limits in knowledge development are caused by the absence of action, which makes the mind dark and forgetful The need for drawing is universal, like crying or laughing. A catapult is a tool that throws - a picture and paints something in-depth - volunteer duct. These dictata have no function if they don't fix themselves, linking one to another in our peaceful lives. Even drawing, with the need to paint, is necessary for souls not inclined to art.

Today's world is becoming increasingly abstract. People sit and stare at screens, working with keyboards or touch screens.

Intelligent technologies have automated many industries and everyday tasks, which has led to a decline in personal activity. Additionally, people are becoming more dependent on technology, which poses a threat to the individual qualities that define Homo sapiens as a unique species: the brain, logic, and drawing skills.

The best way to regain a sharp mind is through meetings, group activities, and discussions, although this is only part of the solution. Statistics in the media, businesses, and cities are replacing people. However, an individual is a complex system that statistical data cannot fully represent. Interacting in face-to-face groups benefits the brain, logic, and drawing skills.

I know that a regular artist who relies solely on digital image tools cannot become a life science artist. Similarly, people in a live group setting cannot be replaced by statistics for this artist, as they have a deep-rooted instinct, developed over millions of years of evolution, to recognize the versatility of the human body in space.

I have been building an interest in life science sketching for 20 years, working with models who have dedicated thousands of hours to practicing and providing feedback on human poses.

When drawing from life or making a portrait from life you will get faster and more accurate, because models are movibg.

Why did I give you this idea? Because your brain will work faster to catch the main, and of course, you will get drawing logic. Most models are beginner students, and here you will see all the main typical mistakes. Do such lessons one time, and you will see - your skills are better. Even if you have a lack of artistic skills, make emotions on the faces of models! It is the easiest and the most rapid way to better understand and feel happiness.

There are two big advantages to making a drawing from life.

The first: no master class, no book helps you to feel alive anatomy, to feel life, to feel subjects. Drawing is a very specific area of interaction. If you never do such a drawing, you never see such problems, such happiness! Even in a child's drawing, it is pure and naive.

Second: always, anywhere, in any place, at any time, a person has her overall tool – her (or his) own  brain to analyze the subject and draw it.
Don't go to another town to learn! Go and draw. I teach at TMCC this Fall Life Drawing. Come to join!
